About the sport

What is British jump racing?

Also called National Hunt racing, jump racing sees thoroughbreds race over hurdles or steeplechase fences, typically from late autumn through spring. It's the bold, beating heart of British winter sport.

From the cathedral roar of the Cheltenham Festival to the world-famous Grand National at Aintree, jump racing brings together horses, jockeys, trainers and tens of thousands of fans for some of the most thrilling afternoons in sport.
